Artwork auctioned at four times the upper estimate price
The work Calligraphy by Huang Xing was worth HKD 125,000.00 (€ 14,306.22) to a buyer in May 2019. This price was achieved in the auction Fine Chinese Modern Paintings at Christies in Hong Kong and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of HKD 30,000.00 many times over. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Huang Xing - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Calligraphy Couplet In Xingshu, which sold at auction in October 2011 for HKD 475,000.00 (€ 43,866.06).

Die Arbeit Calligraphy von Huang Xing war einem Käufer im Mai 2019 HKD 125.000,00 (€ 14.306,22) wert. Dieser Preise wurde in der Auktion Fine Chinese Modern Paintings bei Christies in Hong Kong erzielt und übertraf den zuvor angesetzten oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 30.000,00 um ein Vielfaches. Für andere Arbeiten von Huang Xing mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Calligraphy Couplet In Xingshu beobachtet, die im Oktober 2011 für HKD 475.000,00 (€ 43.866,06) versteigert wurde.
