This price was achieved in the auction Fine Chinese Modern Paintings at Christies in Hong Kong and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of HKD 20,000.00 many times over. This high result makes Calligraphic Couplet in Clerical Script the most expensive artwork by Huang Baowu that we have observed at auctions so far.
