Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Hu Shi achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in May last year. In the Fine Chinese Modern and Contemporary Ink Paintings auction, the work Calligraphy sold for HKD 428,400.00 (€ 50,860.27) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 200,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Hu Shi - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Poem In Running Script, which sold at auction in September 2014 for USD 203,000.00 (€ 160,753.88).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Hu Shi erzielte im Mai letzten Jahres bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Fine Chinese Modern and Contemporary Ink Paintings wurde die Arbeit Calligraphy für HKD 428.400,00 (€ 50.860,27) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 200.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Hu Shi mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Poem In Running Script beobachtet, die im September 2014 für USD 203.000,00 (€ 160.753,88) versteigert wurde.
