Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Calligraphy In Running Script by Hu Shi was sold in the Fine Classical Chinese Paintings & Calligraphy auction at Sothebys in New York in September 2018. It changed hands for a price of USD 8,750.00 (€ 7,528.82) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 7,000.00 – 9,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Hu Shi achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Poem In Running Script in September 2014 with an auction result of USD 203,000.00 (€ 160,753.88).

Die Arbeit Calligraphy In Running Script von Hu Shi wurde im September 2018 in der Auktion Fine Classical Chinese Paintings & Calligraphy bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 8.750,00 (€ 7.528,82) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 7.000,00 – 9.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Hu Shi erzielen.
