Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2006 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Fine Modern and Contemporary Chinese Paintings I & II, which included the work Winter Landscape by Hu Nianzu. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 80,000.00 – 120,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 90,000.00 (€ 9,039.98) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Hu Nianzu - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A Sea Of Clouds, which sold at auction in October 2001 for HKD 141,000.00 (€ 20,100.30).
