A top price for Hu Lancheng
This artwork by Hu Lancheng achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2014. In the Fine Chinese Paintings auction, the work Calligraphy Couplet In Lishu sold for HKD 187,500.00 (€ 19,303.67) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 80,000.00. This high result makes Calligraphy Couplet In Lishu the most expensive artwork by Hu Lancheng that we have observed at auctions so far.
