The »bidding war« ended at USD 4,000.00 (€ 3,563.79), 33% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Howard Finster achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Traveling Show: Presentation Piece Detailing the Life of Howard Finster, 1988 in January 2019 with an auction result of USD 43,750.00 (€ 38,196.26).

Die Arbeit Triceratops (#3,479), 1984 von Howard Finster wurde im Februar letzten Jahres in der Auktion Outsider Art bei Christies in New York versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 4.000,00 (€ 3.563,79) und damit 33% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Howard Finster erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Traveling Show: Presentation Piece Detailing the Life of Howard Finster, 1988 im Januar 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 43.750,00 (€ 38.196,26).
