In January 2019 Christies in New York held the auction Outsider and Vernacular Art, which included the work The Farmer and His Old Mule, 1983, #2,710 by Howard Finster. The »bidding war« ended at USD 10,000.00 (€ 8,730.57), 67% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Howard Finster have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Traveling Show: Presentation Piece Detailing the Life of Howard Finster, 1988 in January 2019 with an auction result of USD 43,750.00 (€ 38,196.26).

Im Januar 2019 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Outsider and Vernacular Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Farmer and His Old Mule, 1983, #2,710 von Howard Finster zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 10.000,00 (€ 8.730,57) und damit 67% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Howard Finster auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Traveling Show: Presentation Piece Detailing the Life of Howard Finster, 1988 im Januar 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 43.750,00 (€ 38.196,26).
