In January 2017 Christies in New York held the auction Courageous Spirits: Outsider and Vernacular Art, which included the work Dwight D. Eisenhower, #1,441, July 1979 by Howard Finster. The »bidding war« ended at USD 6,875.00 (€ 6,369.28), 38% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Howard Finster have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Traveling Show: Presentation Piece Detailing the Life of Howard Finster, 1988 in January 2019 with an auction result of USD 43,750.00 (€ 38,196.26).

Im Januar 2017 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Courageous Spirits: Outsider and Vernacular Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Dwight D. Eisenhower, #1,441, July 1979 von Howard Finster zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 6.875,00 (€ 6.369,28) und damit 38% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Howard Finster auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Traveling Show: Presentation Piece Detailing the Life of Howard Finster, 1988 im Januar 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 43.750,00 (€ 38.196,26).
