Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Howard Bond achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in Skinner Marlborough, Massachusetts in December last year. In the Studio Art auction, the work Cottonwoods in Winter, Yosemite sold for USD 446.25 (€ 417.13) - well above the upper estimate of USD 200.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Howard Bond; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot The Tetons and Snake River, Wyoming. sold at auction in November 2016 with the realized price of EUR 500.00.
