Auction result well in line with expectations
The work An Italianate landscape with a Grand Tourist studying the inscriptions on an obelisk by Horatius de Hooch was sold in the Old Masters and 19th Century Art auction at Christies in London in November 2011. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of EUR 3,500.00 – 5,500.00, the actual price achieved of EUR 4,000.00 could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Horatius de Hooch have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A River Landscape With Ruins And Travelers in April 2006 with an auction result of USD 24,000.00 (€ 19,011.41).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit An Italianate landscape with a Grand Tourist studying the inscriptions on an obelisk von Horatius de Hooch wurde im November 2011 in der Auktion Old Masters and 19th Century Art bei Christies in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 3.500,00 – 5.500,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von EUR 4.000,00 konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Horatius de Hooch auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A River Landscape With Ruins And Travelers im April 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 24.000,00 (€ 19.011,41).
