Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Horatio Gerardo Garcia could be acquired at Christies in New York in February 2004 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Maritime auction, the work A windjammer in the tradewinds changed hands for USD 3,585.00 (€ 2,881.60) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Horatio Gerardo Garcia - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Mayflower with Pilgrim in the Atlantic, year 1620, which sold at auction in December 2008 for USD 15,000.00 (€ 10,776.64).
