Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2021 Bonhams in London held the auction The Marine Sale, which included the work The Westland off Iquique, Chile by Horatio Gerardo Garcia. It changed hands for a price of GBP 1,657.50 (€ 1,963.69) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 1,200.00 – 1,800.00. Admittedly, works by Horatio Gerardo Garcia have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Mayflower with Pilgrim in the Atlantic, year 1620 in December 2008 with an auction result of USD 15,000.00 (€ 10,776.64).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2021 führte Bonhams in London die Auktion The Marine Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Westland off Iquique, Chile von Horatio Gerardo Garcia zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 1.657,50 (€ 1.963,69) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 1.200,00 – 1.800,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Horatio Gerardo Garcia auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Mayflower with Pilgrim in the Atlantic, year 1620 im Dezember 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 15.000,00 (€ 10.776,64).
