Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Tea bowls by Hoon Kwak was auctioned at Christies in New York in September 2006. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 2,160.00 (€ 1,702.53) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Hoon Kwak achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Tea Bowls, 2003 in September 2006 with an auction result of USD 26,400.00 (€ 20,808.70).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Tea bowls von Hoon Kwak kam im September 2006 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 2.160,00 (€ 1.702,53) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Hoon Kwak erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Tea Bowls, 2003 im September 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 26.400,00 (€ 20.808,70).
