A top price for Hong Sung Do - as previously expected
In May 2009 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Asian Contemporary Art (Day Sale), which included the work Tourist (Book) by Hong Sung Do. The result of HKD 50,000.00 (€ 4,566.05) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of HKD 50,000.00 – 80,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Tourist (Book) is the most expensive artwork by Hong Sung Do that we have observed at auctions so far.
Ein Spitzenpreis mit Ansage
Im Mai 2009 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Asian Contemporary Art (Day Sale) durch, in der auch die Arbeit Tourist (Book) von Hong Sung Do zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von HKD 50.000,00 (€ 4.566,05) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 50.000,00 – 80.000,00. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist Tourist (Book) das teuerste Kunstwerk von Hong Sung Do, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
