Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Meet of the Quorn Hounds at Kirby Gate November 7, 1910 by Heywood Hardy was sold in the The European Art Sale Part I auction at Sothebys in New York in January last year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 50,000.00 – 70,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 50,400.00 (€ 44,951.84) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Heywood Hardy - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Drawing Covert, which sold at auction in December 2019 for GBP 118,750.00 (€ 140,348.60).
