In May 2021 Christies in New York held the auction Impressionist & Modern Art Day Sale, which included the work Sitzender Mann by Max Pechstein. The »bidding war« ended at USD 225,000.00 (€ 184,516.98), 25% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Max Pechstein achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Weib mit Inder auf Teppich (Vorderseite), Früchte II (Rückseite) in December 2011 with an auction result of EUR 3,480,000.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis um 25 % übertroffen
Im Mai 2021 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Impressionist & Modern Art Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Sitzender Mann von Max Pechstein zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 225.000,00 (€ 184.516,98) und damit 25% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Max Pechstein erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Weib mit Inder auf Teppich (Vorderseite), Früchte II (Rückseite) im Dezember 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 3.480.000,00.
