In March 2008 Christies in London held the auction The Sunday Sale - Property of Mrs. Gwen Pethick; Property of a Gentleman and Property of a Gentleman removed from Seisdon Hall, South Staffordshire., which included the work A New Vintage by Hermann Kern. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 4,375.00 (€ 5,496.09), 25% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Hermann Kern - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Lock Maker, which sold at auction in April 2007 for EUR 12,000.00.

Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 4.375,00 (€ 5.496,09) und damit 25% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Hermann Kern mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Lock Maker beobachtet, die im April 2007 für EUR 12.000,00 versteigert wurde.
