It achieved a price of GBP 2,295.00 (€ 2,720.98), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 53%. Admittedly, works by Hermann Kern have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Lock Maker in April 2007 with an auction result of EUR 12,000.00.

Die Arbeit A frugal meal von Hermann Kern wurde im März letzten Jahres in der Auktion British and European Art bei Bonhams in London versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 2.295,00 (€ 2.720,98) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 53%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Hermann Kern auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Lock Maker im April 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 12.000,00.
