Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2011 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Master and British Drawings Including Property from the Descendants of Walter Brandt, which included the work Three Butterflies And A Gnat by Herman Henstenburgh. It changed hands for a price of GBP 8,750.00 (€ 10,041.93) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 7,000.00 – 9,000.00. Admittedly, works by Herman Henstenburgh have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A King Bird Of Paradise (Cicinnurius Regius) And A Spiderhunter (Arachnothera) in January 2011 with an auction result of USD 74,500.00 (€ 54,320.09).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juli 2011 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Old Master and British Drawings Including Property from the Descendants of Walter Brandt durch, in der auch die Arbeit Three Butterflies And A Gnat von Herman Henstenburgh zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 8.750,00 (€ 10.041,93) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 7.000,00 – 9.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Herman Henstenburgh auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A King Bird Of Paradise (Cicinnurius Regius) And A Spiderhunter (Arachnothera) im Januar 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 74.500,00 (€ 54.320,09).
