Auction result well in line with expectations
In July last year Christies in London held the auction Old Master and British Works on Paper: Drawings, Watercolours and Prints 1500-1900, which included the work A basket with flowers in a stone niche, with a monkey and a butterfly; and A basket with flowers in a stone niche, with a barking dog and a bird by Herman Henstenburgh. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 7,000.00 – 10,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 7,560.00 (€ 9,027.98) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Herman Henstenburgh have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A King Bird Of Paradise (Cicinnurius Regius) And A Spiderhunter (Arachnothera) in January 2011 with an auction result of USD 74,500.00 (€ 54,320.09).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juli letzten Jahres führte Christies in London die Auktion Old Master and British Works on Paper: Drawings, Watercolours and Prints 1500-1900 durch, in der auch die Arbeit A basket with flowers in a stone niche, with a monkey and a butterfly; and A basket with flowers in a stone niche, with a barking dog and a bird von Herman Henstenburgh zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 7.000,00 – 10.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 7.560,00 (€ 9.027,98) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Herman Henstenburgh auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A King Bird Of Paradise (Cicinnurius Regius) And A Spiderhunter (Arachnothera) im Januar 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 74.500,00 (€ 54.320,09).
