Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2007 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Master Drawings, which included the work Peacocks, A Parrot And Other Fowl, Watched By A Spaniel, In A Classical Park Landscape by Herman Henstenburgh. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 12,000.00 – 18,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 13,200.00 (€ 19,605.05) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Herman Henstenburgh - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A King Bird Of Paradise (Cicinnurius Regius) And A Spiderhunter (Arachnothera), which sold at auction in January 2011 for USD 74,500.00 (€ 54,320.09).
