It changed hands for a price of USD 17,500.00 (€ 12,962.96) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 14,000.00 – 18,000.00. Admittedly, works by Herman Henstenburgh have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A King Bird Of Paradise (Cicinnurius Regius) And A Spiderhunter (Arachnothera) in January 2011 with an auction result of USD 74,500.00 (€ 54,320.09).
