This price was achieved in the auction THE BAT ARTVENTURE COLLECTION formerly known as THE PETER STUYVESANT COLLECTION at Sothebys in Amsterdam and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of EUR 4,000.00 many times over. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Herman Gordijn; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Urinoir II - Ochtendzon sold at auction in November 2011 with the realized price of EUR 31,000.00.
