In September 2007 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction Pictures Watercolours and Drawings, which included the work A huntsman settling his account by Herman Frederik Carel ten Kate. The result of EUR 1,500.00 was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of EUR 1,500.00 – 2,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Herman Frederik Carel ten Kate achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Pay Day in October 2007 with an auction result of EUR 38,650.00.
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im September 2007 führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion Pictures Watercolours and Drawings durch, in der auch die Arbeit A huntsman settling his account von Herman Frederik Carel ten Kate zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von EUR 1.500,00 entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von EUR 1.500,00 – 2.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Herman Frederik Carel ten Kate erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Pay Day im Oktober 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 38.650,00.
