In February 2021 Bonhams in London held the auction Travel & Exploration, which included the work A patinated bronze of a native African man, modelled as a mask the forehead with scarification marks by Herbert Ward. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 10,837.50 (€ 12,499.02), 55% above the upper estimate. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Herbert Ward; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot The Charm Doctor Dancing sold at auction in July 2017 with the realized price of GBP 16,250.00 (€ 18,132.50).

Im Februar 2021 führte Bonhams in London die Auktion Travel & Exploration durch, in der auch die Arbeit A patinated bronze of a native African man, modelled as a mask the forehead with scarification marks von Herbert Ward zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 10.837,50 (€ 12.499,02) und damit 55% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Herbert Ward; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit The Charm Doctor Dancing im Juli 2017 mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 16.250,00 (€ 18.132,50).
