Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In August this year Bonhams in New York held the auction The Fred and Elinor Wrobel CollectionThe Artist's Eye, which included the work The Artist's Campsite by Herbert Reginald Gallop. Here, the upper estimate of AUD 1,200.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for AUD 1,230.00 (€ 733.98). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Herbert Reginald Gallop - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Last Gleam, 1936, which sold at auction in June 2020 for AUD 2,440.00 (€ 2,172.56).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im August diesen Jahres führte Bonhams in New York die Auktion The Fred and Elinor Wrobel CollectionThe Artist's Eye durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Artist's Campsite von Herbert Reginald Gallop zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von AUD 1.200,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für AUD 1.230,00 (€ 733,98) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Herbert Reginald Gallop mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Last Gleam, 1936 beobachtet, die im Juni 2020 für AUD 2.440,00 (€ 2.172,56) versteigert wurde.
