Auction result well in line with expectations
In April last year Bonhams in London held the auction The Marine Sale, which included the work A river scene at dusk possibly the Thames with The Monument in the distance by Herbert Menzies Marshall. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 400.00 – 600.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 446.25 (€ 532.14) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Herbert Menzies Marshall achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Houses of Parliament, from across the Thames in May 2002 with an auction result of GBP 6,572.50 (€ 10,292.62).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in London die Auktion The Marine Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit A river scene at dusk possibly the Thames with The Monument in the distance von Herbert Menzies Marshall zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 400,00 – 600,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 446,25 (€ 532,14) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Herbert Menzies Marshall erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Houses of Parliament, from across the Thames im Mai 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 6.572,50 (€ 10.292,62).
