Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In April this year Bonhams held the auction Classic & Contemporary Photographs, which included the work 'She and Her Shadow' (Jones Beach) by Herbert Matter. The »bidding war« ended at USD 2,422.50 (€ 2,194.29), 21% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Herbert Matter have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work PKZ in June 2015 with an auction result of GBP 6,875.00 (€ 9,693.66).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im April diesen Jahres führte Bonhams die Auktion Classic & Contemporary Photographs durch, in der auch die Arbeit 'She and Her Shadow' (Jones Beach) von Herbert Matter zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 2.422,50 (€ 2.194,29) und damit 21% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Herbert Matter auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit PKZ im Juni 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 6.875,00 (€ 9.693,66).
