Auction result well in line with expectations
In December this year Christies in London held the auction British and European Art, which included the work Full-length nude study of Mary Best for 'Tristram and Yseult' by Herbert James Draper. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 25,000.00 – 35,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 25,200.00 (€ 29,029.43) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Herbert James Draper achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Mountain Mists in October 2021 with an auction result of USD 2,010,000.00 (€ 1,739,958.45).
