Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Still Life, 1958 by Herbert Badham was sold in the The Fred and Elinor Wrobel CollectionA Curated Salon auction at Bonhams in April this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of AUD 20,000.00 – 40,000.00, the actual price achieved of AUD 22,140.00 (€ 13,269.96) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Herbert Badham have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work South Head, 1935 in November 2020 with an auction result of AUD 147,600.00 (€ 123,535.32).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Still Life, 1958 von Herbert Badham wurde im April diesen Jahres in der Auktion The Fred and Elinor Wrobel CollectionA Curated Salon bei Bonhams versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von AUD 20.000,00 – 40.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von AUD 22.140,00 (€ 13.269,96) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Herbert Badham auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit South Head, 1935 im November 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 147.600,00 (€ 123.535,32).
