In the A Green and Pleasant Land: Two Centuries of British Landscape Painting auction, the work The Old Shepherd sold for GBP 4,375.00 (€ 5,377.02) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 2,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Henry William Banks Davis achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Spring Morning in November 2002 with an auction result of GBP 35,850.00 (€ 56,139.25).
