Auction result misses estimated price range
In September 2010 a collector was able to acquire the work Portrait of an Indonesian man by Henry van Velthuysen for EUR 750.00. This price was achieved in the auction Nineteen to Now,Art from the 19th, 20th and 21st centuries including Indonesian Art and Topographical Observations at Christies in Amsterdam and was even below the estimate range of EUR 800.00 – 1,200.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Henry van Velthuysen have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Indonesian street vendor selling bananas in September 2008 with an auction result of EUR 3,750.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im September 2010 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Portrait of an Indonesian man von Henry van Velthuysen für EUR 750,00 erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Nineteen to Now,Art from the 19th, 20th and 21st centuries including Indonesian Art and Topographical Observations bei Christies in Amsterdam erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von EUR 800,00 – 1.200,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Henry van Velthuysen auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Indonesian street vendor selling bananas im September 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 3.750,00.
