Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Get out of the way Sir; This fence is like small pox; Clearing the ditch; and Across the fields by Henry Thomas Alken, Sen. was auctioned at Christies in London in July 2014. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 875.00 (€ 1,103.65) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Henry Thomas Alken, Sen. achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Meet On The Highway; A Meet On A Byway; On To The Road; And Crossing Paths in June 2013 with an auction result of GBP 37,500.00 (€ 43,769.22).

Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 800,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 875,00 (€ 1.103,65) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
