The price achieved of GBP 7,767.50 (€ 11,340.30) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 7,000.00 – 10,000.00. Admittedly, works by Henry Stacy Marks have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Bookworm in June 2000 with an auction result of GBP 44,650.00 (€ 70,775.75).
