Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Ducks beside a pond by Henry Stacy Marks was sold in the British and Continental Watercolours and Drawings auction at Christies in London in February 2000. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 400.00 – 600.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 402.50 (€ 658.66) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Henry Stacy Marks achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Bookworm in June 2000 with an auction result of GBP 44,650.00 (€ 70,775.75).
