Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Henry Scott could be acquired at Sothebys in London in December 2017 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Victorian, Pre-Raphaelite & British Impressionist Art auction, the work Dawn Mists, The Wool Clipper 'Loch Maree' changed hands for GBP 1,875.00 (€ 2,110.04) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Henry Scott achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The jute clipper Star of Greece at sea in the gathering dusk in February 2006 with an auction result of USD 36,000.00 (€ 30,188.68).
