This artwork by Henry Scott achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in London in October last year. In the The Marine Sale auction, the work The American clipper, Red Cloud sold for GBP 10,837.50 (€ 12,625.57) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 6,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Henry Scott - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The jute clipper Star of Greece at sea in the gathering dusk, which sold at auction in February 2006 for USD 36,000.00 (€ 30,188.68).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Henry Scott erzielte im Oktober letzten Jahres bei Bonhams in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion The Marine Sale wurde die Arbeit The American clipper, Red Cloud für GBP 10.837,50 (€ 12.625,57) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 6.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Henry Scott mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The jute clipper Star of Greece at sea in the gathering dusk beobachtet, die im Februar 2006 für USD 36.000,00 (€ 30.188,68) versteigert wurde.
