Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In June 2001 Christies in London held the auction British Art on Paper, which included the work Violets by Henry Meynell Rheam. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 7,050.00 (€ 11,711.45), 18% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Henry Meynell Rheam - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Once Upon A Time (Snow White), which sold at auction in May 2011 for GBP 37,250.00 (€ 42,595.49).
