Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Landscape by Henry Lee McFee was auctioned at Christies in New York in June 2000, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 5,875.00 (€ 6,155.06). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Henry Lee McFee - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Still Life, which sold at auction in May 2004 for USD 19,120.00 (€ 15,650.32).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Landscape von Henry Lee McFee im Juni 2000 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 6.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 5.875,00 (€ 6.155,06) den Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Henry Lee McFee mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Still Life beobachtet, die im Mai 2004 für USD 19.120,00 (€ 15.650,32) versteigert wurde.
