Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The parley of an emissary and Napoleon after the Battle of Austerlitz; and The requisition of a farmhouse by Henry Hetherington Emmerson was auctioned at Christies in London in June 2000. The price achieved of GBP 5,875.00 (€ 9,312.60) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 5,000.00 – 8,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Henry Hetherington Emmerson - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Maid of Derwent, which sold at auction in March 2008 for GBP 17,300.00 (€ 21,733.09).

Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 5.875,00 (€ 9.312,60) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 5.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Henry Hetherington Emmerson mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Maid of Derwent beobachtet, die im März 2008 für GBP 17.300,00 (€ 21.733,09) versteigert wurde.
