The work The Maid of Derwent by Henry Hetherington Emmerson was sold in the Victorian & Traditionalist Pictures auction at Christies in London in March 2008. The price achieved of GBP 17,300.00 (€ 21,733.09) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, The Maid of Derwent is the most expensive artwork by Henry Hetherington Emmerson that we have observed at auctions so far.
