Auction result misses estimated price range
In May 2011 a collector was able to acquire the work Saltburn By The Sea by Henry George Gawthorn for GBP 500.00 (€ 571.75). This price was achieved in the auction Vintage Posters at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 600.00 – 800.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Henry George Gawthorn achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work St. Andrews in November 2010 with an auction result of GBP 11,250.00 (€ 13,443.73).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Mai 2011 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Saltburn By The Sea von Henry George Gawthorn für GBP 500,00 (€ 571,75) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Vintage Posters bei Christies in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 600,00 – 800,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Henry George Gawthorn erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit St. Andrews im November 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 11.250,00 (€ 13.443,73).
