Auction result misses estimated price range
In December 2006 a collector was able to acquire the work Linlithgow and Stirling Hunt by Henry Frederick Lucas Lucas for USD 26,400 (€ 20,005). This price was achieved in the auction Sporting Art at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 30,000 – 50,000 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Henry Frederick Lucas Lucas - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Hunting Alphabet A Stands for ATHERSTONE Ladies are few distinguished by wearing the collar of blue. B Stands for BOOT with the Cream coloured top, the pride and the glory of many a Fop. C Stands for CUBBING when foxes abound and they rattl, which sold at auction in December 2006 for USD 72,000 (€
