Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work A collection of landscape watercolours including: Near Fairfield; Half way up Ben Nevis; Dartmouth; Boxhill; Buxton from 7 Beldvedere Terrace; Buxton Barkins Hill, Llangollen; Dolgelly by Henry Earp was auctioned at Christies in London in October 2002, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 300.00 – 500.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 235 Admittedly, works by Henry Earp have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Sheffield Park, Sussex; and Barcombe, Sussex in March 2002 with an auction result of GBP 1,880.00 (€ 3,073.31).

Als die Arbeit A collection of landscape watercolours including: Near Fairfield; Half way up Ben Nevis; Dartmouth; Boxhill; Buxton from 7 Beldvedere Terrace; Buxton Barkins Hill, Llangollen; Dolgelly von Henry Earp im Oktober 2002 bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 300,00 – 500,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 235,00 (€ 371,73) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Henry Earp auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Sheffield Park, Sussex; and Barcombe, Sussex im März 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.880,00 (€ 3.073,31).
