A top price for Hendrik Danckerts - as previously expected
In May 2002 Christies in London held the auction The London Sale, which included the work View of St. James's Palace and the gardens, from the south-west with figures promenading by Hendrik Danckerts. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 30,000.00 – 50,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 31,070.00 (€ 48,656.04) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Even if this result could not surprise positively, View of St. James's Palace and the gardens, from the south-west with figures promenading is the most expensive artwork by Hendrik Danckerts that we have observed at auctions so far.
