The work Caerphilly Castle, South Wales (recto); and A study of part of the Castle from the north-east (verso) by Hendrik Danckerts was auctioned at Christies in London in July 2010. It achieved a price of GBP 8,750.00 (€ 10,520.89), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 46%. Admittedly, works by Hendrik Danckerts have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work View of St. James's Palace and the gardens, from the south-west with figures promenading in May 2002 with an auction result of GBP 31,070.00 (€ 48,656.04).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 46 % übertroffen
Die Arbeit Caerphilly Castle, South Wales (recto); and A study of part of the Castle from the north-east (verso) von Hendrik Danckerts kam im Juli 2010 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 8.750,00 (€ 10.520,89) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 46%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Hendrik Danckerts auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit View of St. James's Palace and the gardens, from the south-west with figures promenading im Mai 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 31.070,00 (€ 48.656,04).
