This artwork by Henry Cliffe achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in November 2020. In the Modern & Post-War British Art auction, the work Seated Woman sold for GBP 8,190.00 (€ 9,142.80) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 3,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Henry Cliffe; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Green And Red sold at auction in November 2006 with the realized price of GBP 10,800.00 (€ 16,038.34).
