Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2003 Christies in London held the auction AT HOME-BRITISH AND CONTINENTAL PICTURES AND WORKS ON PAPER, which included the work Seeking shelter; and Guarding the kill by Henry Charles Woollett. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 500.00 – 700.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 528.75 (€ 759.84) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Henry Charles Woollett achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Horsemarket at Ashby-de-la-Zouch in December 2005 with an auction result of USD 16,800.00 (€ 14,186.79).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juni 2003 führte Christies in London die Auktion AT HOME-BRITISH AND CONTINENTAL PICTURES AND WORKS ON PAPER durch, in der auch die Arbeit Seeking shelter; and Guarding the kill von Henry Charles Woollett zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 500,00 – 700,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 528,75 (€ 759,84) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Henry Charles Woollett erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Horsemarket at Ashby-de-la-Zouch im Dezember 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 16.800,00 (€ 14.186,79).
