In November 2018 Artcurial in Paris held the auction Urban Art, which included the work Dondi (Artrain Graffiti Train) - 1986 by Henry Chalfant. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 1,762.00 47% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Henry Chalfant have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Subway Portfolio in April 2015 with an auction result of USD 12,500.00 (€ 11,198.71).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 47 % übertroffen
Im November 2018 führte Artcurial in Paris die Auktion Urban Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Dondi (Artrain Graffiti Train) - 1986 von Henry Chalfant zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 1.762,00 und damit 47% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Henry Chalfant auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Subway Portfolio im April 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 12.500,00 (€ 11.198,71).
